- Favorable attitudes toward helmet safety generally increase helmet utilization.
- Utilization rates are 10–20 percentage points higher among motorcyclists with favorable beliefs.
- Helmet utilization rates are roughly 25 percentage points higher in states with helmet laws.
- Helmet laws increase use of conspicuously colored helmets and out-of-state travel.
