  • How can we design policies that reduce air and water pollution?
  • What causes economic growth, a recession or inflation?

Why Study Economics?

Economics is among the highest-paying majors nationwide. According to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, median early-career earnings for those with an economics degree is $70,000. Through ECU’s economics program, you can develop skills employers seek.

Degrees and Concentrations

Students in ECU’s Bachelor of Science program in economics can choose from the following concentrations:

  • Applied: Combine ECON with a related minor (e.g., business).
  • Policy Analysis: Mix ECON with social sciences, health or planning.
  • Economic Data Analytics: Learn statistics and programming skills.
