Dr. Haiyong Liu appointed chair for economics
This August, the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences appointed new department chairs in the Departments of Economics and History.
Dr. Haiyong Liu, associate professor of economics and adjunct associate professor of public health, steps into the role of chair for economics.
“I feel proud to serve in this new role the constituents of our department, the faculty, students and alumni. I am also very excited about working with my colleagues across the campus to shape the promising future of our department and university,” said Liu.
Dr. Christopher Oakley, associate professor of history who has been with the East Carolina University faculty since 2005, steps into the role of chair for history.
“I am deeply honored to serve as chair of the history department,” said Oakley.
